ModSpace Recognized with Awards of Distinction from Modular Building Institute for Projects in Healthcare, Education and Retail Markets

Berwyn PA, April 15, 2008 - The Modular Building Institute (MBI) has honored ModSpace, one of North America's largest modular building providers, with first place and honorable mention awards at the 2008 MBI convention last week. The MBI "Awards of Distinction" is the modular industry's premier award competition for MBI members and is open to building manufacturers, dealers, and product and service providers.

First place awards received by ModSpace included a cutting-edge marketing and sales center in the permanent retail category, a modular diagnostic imaging addition to a Veterans Administration hospital in the permanent healthcare category and a marketing award for the new ModSpace.com web site. The company also received an honorable mention award for the modular rebuilding of the storm-damaged Holy Cross High School in New Orleans in the temporary education category.

The building project entries submitted by ModSpace were judged by a panel of industry experts on architectural excellence, technical innovation, cost effectiveness, energy efficiency, and calendar days to complete. Marketing pieces were judged on objectives, creativity and results.

"ModSpace is proud of the recognition it continues to receive from MBI for the outstanding projects our sales, operations and construction services teams deliver for our customers," said Keith Shipp, senior vp of sales and marketing for ModSpace. "We also want to recognize our building manufacturer network across North America that enables us to deliver innovative solutions to our customer's space challenges".

Education Industry - Holy Cross High School

Hurricane Katrina completely destroyed the campus of Holy Cross High School in New Orleans, which had been in continuous operation for 130 years. ModSpace stepped in to create a modular building campus consisting of nearly 31,000 square feet of classrooms, labs, offices, library and cafeteria in only 75 days. The buildings were installed on six-foot high foundations and include over 22,000 feet of elevated walkways.

In addition to the many projects ModSpace has delivered in the gulf region, the company continues to support post-Katrina rebuilding efforts with the 2008 sponsorship of Tour du Rouge, a 495 bicycle tour benefitting American Red Cross chapters in the gulf region.
